Outdoor life in the Pacific Northwest ranges from fishing and rafting to hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, mountain biking and wildlife viewing. Your family can do it all on a visit to the Pacific Coast in Vancouver, Clayoquot Wilderness Resort on the Bedwell River and Fairmont Chateau Whistler at the foot of Blackcomb Mountain.
Fly by seaplane to Clayoquot Wilderness Resort
on the Bedwell River. A true wilderness experience, the resort's
accommodations consist of "prospector-style" canvas tents elevated
on wooden platforms, with gas heat, comfortable beds and spacious
porches for viewing the surrounding wilderness. Spend your days
here hiking, kayaking/canoeing, mountain biking, wildlife viewing
or fishing. Horseback riding adventures are available for all ages;
explore the nearby old logging roads and abandoned gold mines
or gallop through the forest trails. A massage from your on-site
masseuse provides a great way to wind down after an active day.
Days 3-5
Transfer by seaplane charter and private SUV to the
Fairmont Chateau Whistler, an excellent family resort located at the
foot of Blackcomb Mountain and an easy stroll away from Whistler
Village.
Day 6
Embark on a private half-day fishing tour with a guide.
Fly- or spin-fish in spectacular scenery, from remote alpine lakes
to crystal clear mountain rivers that are home to rainbow trout,
cutthroat, steelhead, Dolly Varden and salmon.
Day 7
Crystal clear water, old growth forests and continuous
white water action provide thrills for the entire family. Whistler's
Green River is an excellent introduction to paddle rafting for those
who may be trying it for the first time. The guide sits in the rear and
calls out commands to the enthusiastic paddlers.
Day 8
Transfer by private SUV from Whistler to Vancouver for
your departure flight.
