ITINERARY

With a warm "Marhaban," you are welcomed and transported to your luxurious hotel. Unwind from your travels and immerse yourself in the captivating vistas of the pyramids and the Nile.

Explore bustling Cairo with visits to the Citadel, the Hanging Church and the Alabaster Mosque. Stroll through its labyrinth of alleys of the Khan El-Khalili bazaar. Today's tour concludes by exploring Cairo's museums and the country’s rich collection of antiquities.

Today's sites include the ancient capital of Memphis, Alabaster Sphinx and the Colossus of Ramses II. Continue to Sakkara and its sprawling necropolis. Visit the Step Pyramid, the Great Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza. Wrap up your sightseeing at the Solar Boat Museum, site of Cheops' huge funerary boat.

Fly to Luxor, site of ancient Egypt’s capital city of Thebes. This afternoon visit the temples at Abydos.

Board the elegant River Tosca. After lunch, explore the fascinating Karnak Temple and its great Hypostyle Hall. Savor a leisurely afternoon as your ship travels north to Dendera.

Explore the wonderfully-preserved Temple of Hathor, the horned cow goddess of love. Return to your ship for lunch, then, cruise back to Luxor where you’ll disembark to view its magnificent temple.

Venture into the Valley of the Kings, which contains 63 tombs, including that of King Tutankhamun. (King Tut’s tomb at an additional cost.) Visit the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Egypt’s first female ruler. You can’t miss the colossal remains of the two statues of Pharaoh Amenohotep III. Tonight, don traditional Egyptian dress for a festive Galabeya party.

The dual Temple of Kom Ombo is dedicated to the falcon god Horus and the crocodile god Sobek. Cruise to Aswan and the High Dam built in 1960. Visit the granite quarries and see the Unfinished Obelisk. Explore the Philae Temple, which was dismantled and rebuilt on higher ground. Cap the afternoon with a sail on a traditional felucca.

Disembark your floating hotel and fly to Abu Simbel, site of the twin Temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari. This UNESCO-designated site was dismantled and rebuilt, saving the 3,500-year-old temples from the rising waters of Lake Nasser. Later, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo. Enjoy a day room and a farewell dinner, before your transfer to the airport.
