Costa Cruise TOC

Terms and Conditions Below are Accurate as of 5/28/2020

For bookings confirmed starting from 04.01.2020

These General Conditions for Membership (hereinafter “Conditions”) establish how the Program (hereinafter “Program” or “Club”) called “Costa Club” works and how to become a Member. The Program is organized by Costa Crociere S.p.A. with headquarters in Genoa, Piazza Piccapietra 48, 16121, Italy (hereinafter “Costa”).

Art. 1 – Eligibility for participating in the Program
1.1    Any individual who is at least 18 years old and is resident in one of the countries listed in the “Choose your country/region” section on the website www.costacruises.com (hereinafter “Members”).

Art 2. Application of the Program
The Program will be valid on all Costa cruises published annually in the Costa Cruises brochure and on the website www.costacruises.com. Costa cruises in Asia (for example Costa NeoRomantica, Costa Serena, Costa Atlantica, Costa Firenze, Costa Venezia) and charter cruises are not included in the Program.

Art. 3 – Duration of the Program
3.1    These General Conditions are valid from 1 April 2020 until 31 December 2020 (hereinafter “Validity Period”) and, if no alterations or additions are made by Costa, will continue to be valid from year to year.

Art. 4 – How to become a Member of the Program
4.1    Joining the Program is free and may be done in the following ways:
– online on the website www.costacruises.com;
– on the website www.mycosta.com,
– via Costa App,
– on board Costa ships by completing an application form with all the obligatory information and giving it to an appropriate staff member;
– by calling 1-800-GO-COSTA (1-800-462-6782) or 1-888-812-6782, or at a Travel Agency. People wishing to join the Club by calling the Contact Center or at a Travel Agency must confirm that they have read and accepted the General Conditions and Privacy Policy.
Confirmation of registration with Costa Club via the website, a Travel Agency or the Contact Center will be processed within 5 days.
If the membership request is made by filling out the onboard paper form and giving it to authorized personnel in the appropriate areas indicated by the symbol “Costa Club”, it will be processed within 30 days from the end of the cruise. A Costa Club membership request via postcard will be approved only if all the obligatory information requested is present. Each membership must correspond to a separate email address (not one already being used by another Member).

4.2    If a membership request is made 4 days or less before a cruise’s departure, the Guest is not guaranteed to be recognized on the ship as a Costa Club Member. The Guest will therefore not receive the Costa Club card nor be entitled to the benefits of their Club level until their next cruise.

4.3     On joining, Members who have already taken one or more cruises will be awarded the points from their last cruise as long as the departure date was less than three years prior to their joining, as shown on Costa’s database, bearing in mind, however, that the information for each cruise is relayed from onboard systems to Costa’s database approximately 10 days after the date of disembarkation at the main port on the cruise itinerary. The cruise will only be counted if it is taken after reaching 18 years of age. If the last cruise in Costa’s database does not entitle Guests to earn points, Members will join the program at the Acquamarina level, with the lowest points total for that level (1 point). If at the time of registration the Member has not yet taken a cruise, they will join the program as an Ambra Member with 0 points.

4.4    Once membership has been confirmed, the Member will be sent an email with their Costa Club ID number. When booking a cruise, the correct Costa Club ID number must be provided for the Member to benefit from the advantages and privileges of their Club level.

4.5     During registration, Members must give their full name as indicated on their most recent ID card, date of birth, country of residence, personal email address and mobile phone number, and must accept the present Costa Club General Conditions. The registration of a new Member with an email address and cellphone number already associated with another user is not permitted, even if the latter is a member of the same family.

4.6     After joining the Costa Club, the Member’s Costa Club card (hereinafter “Card”) bearing his or her membership ID number is delivered to all new Members during their first cruise and is personalized on the basis of the Club level they currently hold. The Costa Club card is in the Member’s name, and can only be used by its rightful owner in accordance with these General Conditions and Privacy Policy.

4.7    During a cruise the card also functions as a cabin key, ID (boarding pass for boarding and leaving the ship), and for making onboard purchases. A new card will therefore be issued for each cruise taken.

Art. 5 – How Costa Club points are awarded
5.1    Costa Club points (hereinafter “points”) are the basic unit of calculation used by Costa for determining a Member’s Costa Club level. In the subscription phase, each Member is assigned an ID number in the Costa database, associated with an account where the Member’s points are tallied.
5.2    Members earn points based on the number of nights spent aboard Costa ships and total onboard purchases as indicated below:
Cruise night points: points are earned for every night of the cruise based on the type of cabin Members have chosen:
Inside cabins: 100 points per night;
Outside cabins: 150 points per night;
Balcony cabins: 175 points per night.

For those who book at least 90 days prior to departure, cruise nights points are doubled.
For those who book at least 360 days prior to departure, cruise nights points are tripled (except for Suites).
Members travelling in Suites (and Minisuites) earn 450 points per night.
Those who reserve a Suite (and Minisuites) at least 360 days prior to departure receive 600 points per night.
Members who book with a group rate are awarded points for every night of the cruise according to the cabin they have chosen (see details above), but their cruise night points are not doubled or tripled, regardless of how early they make their reservation. Company incentives and student groups are not awarded points.
Points per night are doubled or tripled on the basis of the date the booking is confirmed by the Costa’s reservation systems and the date of departure based on the above system.
The date on which Costa receives confirmation of the reservation from the Member’s travel agency, and therefore registers it in the Costa reservation system, always takes precedence. If the Member’s travel agency confirms the Member’s reservation without providing Costa with confirmation at the same time, the reservation date will not be valid when calculating how early the reservation was made, and the reservation confirmation date will remain when the agency confirms the reservation with Costa and receives confirmation back from Costa. Having confirmed the reservation with the travel agency, the Member, along with the agency, is responsible for checking that the reservation has been sent to Costa.
If the reservation is subsequently updated with a change that results in the updating of the confirmation or departure date by the Member or their travel agent, the system will update the points calculation as a result.
Points are awarded based on the type of cabin reserved and the price at the moment of purchase in the booking phase. In case of upgrading by paying a supplement onboard, the cabin points awarded for the difference in the price paid for the upgrade will be awarded and counted as onboard purchases, as will be explained in detail below (i.e. for each euro spent, 2 points will be awarded). Promotional and BASIC rates do not allow for point accumulation.

– Costa flight points: points are also awarded for Costa flights included in the cruise package as follows:

a.    Spend up to 350 € per person: 250 points;
b.    Spend over 350 € per person: 500 points.

“Costa flights” refer to flights included in “flight+cruise” packages. The amount is calculated on the basis of all flight legs that the Member has purchased. Other transfer costs, such as buses, trains and private transfers, are not included. Flight points are awarded only for rates that allow for the accumulation of points per night.

Onboard points: regardless of cabin rate, 2 points are earned for every euro spent onboard – excluding fractions of that amount – and are registered on the Member’s card. Sums spent at the casino, on medical expenses, expenses covered with Costa onboard credits, and sums spent by a Member but registered on the Costa Club card of another person, even if they share the same cabin, are not included. By definition free services are not included, nor are onboard credits or group excursions. Points for onboard products and services will also be awarded for purchases and reservations made before the cruise on the MyCosta website. In this case Costa Club points will be awarded to all those who use the services and not the person who made the reservation or purchased the services on the website. In case of excursions purchased for underage persons (children or guests), points from the purchases for said minors will not be counted.

5.3    No points will be awarded for cruise nights and flight expenses if the cruise was purchased at promotional or BASIC rates, with a special discount, or if the ticket is free. Members must always check on the Costa Cruises website or with their Travel Agency to find out whether the rate they have chosen entitles them to earn Costa Club program points.
Furthermore, points will not be awarded to Members if the cruise is cancelled due to reasons independent of Costa’s will or for safety reasons. Moreover, points will not be awarded if Members themselves cancel the cruise, regardless of how early they do so or their reasons.

5.4    Points are automatically awarded 30 days after the end of each cruise. Members can check the points they have earned online, by registering in the reserved area on the website www.costacruises.com. Should they want to, Members may verify their point totals onboard at the interactive totems (when present) or by request at the Costa Club Points when they are open.

5.5    For informational purposes and the sake of maximum transparency, Costa Cruises informs Members that any awarding of bonus points to Members may depend on and be associated with the launch of promotional or specific marketing campaigns dedicated to single Countries in which Costa operates and sells its products.

5.6    Members who think that their points total should be higher than the total in their account should send Costa Club copies of cruise tickets and payment receipts for onboard expenses incurred during any cruise they think has not been counted, within 2 months of the final day of the cruise in question. Members can make requests for points to be updated by sending their full name and Costa Club card number, along with the required documentation, to costaclub@us.costa.it, or by mail to Costa Club Customer Service, 880 SW 145th Ave Suite 102 Pembroke Pines, Florida 33027 – USA.

5.7     Points are always awarded at the end of the cruise and not during the cruise itself, even if the cruises are consecutive. It will not be possible to change Club category while on consecutive cruises even if they are a part of separate reservations. If Members interrupt a cruise ahead of schedule, they will be awarded points for the number of nights they spend onboard at the price they reserved.

Art. 6 – Validity of Costa Club points
6.1    The points considered valid for deciding which level a Member belongs to are those earned over the last three years up to 15 June each year. For example, the points valid for the period 15 June 2020 to 14 June 2021 are points from cruises with a departure on or after 15 June 2017. For new Club Members, the points earned in the last 3 years will be counted as indicated at paragraph 4.3.

6.2    All points earned on cruises taken prior to the last three-year period (based on cruise start date) will expire on 15 June of each year. For example: on 15 June 2020 points earned by Members on cruises that departed before 15 June 2017 will expire.
On 15 June of each year, the Member’s Club level will be reviewed based on the valid points earned in the last 3 years. The recalculation of valid points on 15 June each year and any move down to a lower level applies to all Members, even those who have reserved a cruise before that date that departs after it.
At any time Members may consult their membership level and total and expiring points in the dedicated section of the profile area of the website www.costacruises.com.

6.3     It is possible that when a cruise departs a Member may belong to a different level than at the time of reservation. The Member may move down to a lower level due to yearly points expiring, or move up a level due to points awarded from another cruise taken between the reservation date and the departure date. In this case the Member will receive the privileges for the level they belong to at time of boarding, even if a different level is printed on travel documents and has not been updated for the abovementioned reasons. It is the Member’s responsibility to check their Club level before boarding.

6.4     All Members can check their points total and those due to expire on www.costacruises.com by registering in the reserved area. All Members will also receive periodic emails about their points total and points due to expire at the email address they provided during registration.

6.5    The points and privileges awarded to Members as per articles 7 and 8 below are strictly personal and cannot be given to someone else, transferred, sold, converted into money, reimbursed in case of partial use, or replaced with privileges of a different kind, not even transferred to a family member in case of a Member’s death. Each Member may hold only one account and one Costa Club ID number. If a mistake has been made and the same Member has more than one account and/or Costa Club ID number, Costa will transfer the points earned to a single account and cancel the other accounts and associated Costa Club numbers. Members are responsible for verifying that, when reserving a new cruise, their personal information and Costa Club ID number are correctly inserted and match those associated with their Costa Club membership. Any uncommunicated omissions or variations could lead to incorrect membership level attribution and corresponding onboard benefits.

6.6    Costa reserves the right to rectify the account of any Member in the case of points awarded erroneously, and to award supplementary points for specific promotional campaigns of which Members will be informed in a timely fashion.

6.7    It is the Member’s responsibility to check their points total and ensure that they have been assigned to the correct Club level.

Art. 7 – Costa Club Levels
7.1    There are 6 different Club levels depending on the Member’s points total:
– Ambra Club, for Members who haven’t travelled with Costa yet and therefore have not accumulated any points, but who have joined the program: 0 points
– Acquamarina Club: for Members who have earned a total of 1 to 2,000 points in the last three years (from 15 June)
– Corallo Club: for Members who have earned a total of 2,001 to 5,000 points in the last three years (from 15 June)
– Perla Club: for Members who have earned a total of 5,001 to 13,000 points in the last three years (from 15 June)
– Perla Oro Club: for Members who have earned a total of 13.001 to 26,000 points in the last three years (from 15 June)
– Perla Diamante Club: for Members who have earned a total of at least 26,001 points in the last three years (from 15 June)

7.2    Members who move up to a higher Club level after a cruise or move down to a lower Club level when points expire do so automatically, based on the point ranges mentioned above. Members can always check their status on their profile on the Costa website in the related section.

Art. 8 – Privileges/Advantages
8.1     Costa Club Members are entitled to a series of privileges and advantages (hereinafter “Privileges”) that differ according to Member’s Club level, as described below.
The Privileges are grouped into:
a. Supplementary services, status benefits or concessions reserved to Members, including the supplementary services reserved to Members on the basis of their Costa Club membership level (such as a Personal Cruise Consultant, Concierge services, cabin upgrades, etc.).
b. Complimentary gifts
c. Invitations to exclusive Member activities
d. Discounts and promotions on a purchase of future Costa cruises or onboard services
e. Complimentary points or promotions enabling the earning of extra points or cabin upgrades

Privileges are subject to the entry of each participating Member’s Costa Club ID number at the moment of holding or confirming cruise reservations. Onboard privileges, including the Costa Club Card, will not be available to Members who travel with a promotional-rate or free ticket, or if it is a work trip. Costa Club privileges cannot be combined with privileges connected to Costa rates or any promotions for which the Member must always check whether they can be combined at the time of reservation.
No privileges will be offered on cruises lasting 4 nights or less.

8.2    Privileges are divided into Personal Privileges and Cabin Privileges. The Personal Privileges are reserved for the Member as an individual. Cabin Privileges can be shared by all occupants of a cabin, and are assigned on the basis of the highest membership level present in the cabin. The presence of several Members in the same cabin does not give the right to multiple or accumulate Cabin Privileges. The order and days assigned for the use of onboard Privileges may vary depending on the duration of the cruise and the infrastructure of the ship, and may not be disputed by Members.
8.3    The privileges applicable to occupants of the cabin occupied by the Member (Cabin Privileges) remain valid only as long as the Member remains in that specific cabin.
If the Member moves to a different cabin from the one confirmed at the time of reservation, the other occupants are no longer entitled to the privileges associated with the original cabin, which are non-transferable.

8.4     Privileges are awarded one time per reserved cruise. For consecutive cruises, onboard privileges and credits will be awarded for each cruise, except for the end-of-cruise gift. Cruises that, although taken in a series, have been purchased as a single cruise with a single application of port taxes and a rate different from the sum of the prices of the single cruises (supercruise) are not to be considered consecutive cruises.
For this last type of cruise (the supercruise), benefits and credits are, therefore, awarded one time, as it is considered a single cruise.

8.5    Privileges are made available to Members based on their Club level. The time and place the privileges can be used may vary depending on the length of the cruise and the destination. Members will be informed how the Privileges may be enjoyed aboard the ship via designated communications tools (welcome letter, ‘Diario di Bordo’/’Oggi a Bordo’, interactive TV and more).

8.6    Privileges will be available starting from the date Club membership is confirmed, not from the date the Member registers with the program. Costa Club discounts are an exception: they will be available on the ship as soon as the Member registers.

PRIVILEGES

8.7    Departure Privilege or “Discounts up to 20%” (Cabin Privilege)
Ambra, Acquamarina, Corallo, Perla, Perla Oro and Perla Diamante Members
Departure Privilege discounts, which differ depending on the Club Member’s level and country of residence, are applied when a cruise is purchased directly through a Travel Agency, aboard through the cruise reservation service with a Personal Cruise Consultant, on the Costa website, or through the Costa Contact Center at the time of holding or confirming a reservation, and only after the Member’s Costa Club ID number has been entered. They are valid for all occupants of the same cabin. It is not possible to change a reservation at a later date by entering the Member’s Costa Club ID number to obtain a retroactive discount. Commercial discounts will be applied only on the condition that the cardholder actually goes on the cruise, even if the cardholder is not present at the time of reservation. Discounts are applied exclusively to the cost of the cruise, excluding the cost of flights, transfers, port taxes, shore accommodation where applicable, insurance, fuel surcharges and anything else mentioned in the discount information provided. It is always necessary to check whether the discounts for the purchase of a cruise can be combined with other promotions, and Members are kindly asked to always check with their Travel Agency or the Costa Contact Center. Discounts can be used by Members within the limit of available places for each cruise, and Costa reserves the right to suspend their validity at any time for operational reasons. The updated list of discounted departures is available in the “Departure Privilege” section on the Costa website for a particular country of residence.

8.8    Upgrade and Super Upgrade Privilege (Cabin Privilege)
Upgrade Privilege: Acquamarina, Corallo, and Perla Members
SuperUpgrade Privilege: Perla Oro and Perla Diamante Members
Members entitled to this benefit are those who have taken more cruises in a year (departing between 1/1 and 12/31) than they took the previous calendar year (the number of cruises taken the previous year must be 1 or more).
To establish whether this benefit is applicable, the cruise departure date and the number of reservations made are considered. The privilege offers a free Cabin Upgrade on all cruises surpassing the number the Member took in the previous year.
When calculating additional cruises compared to the previous year, cruises of 4 nights or less are not counted. Cruises of this duration will therefore not be counted among the cruises taken in the previous year towards earning this benefit.
The highest category that Acquamarina, Corallo and Perla Members can be upgraded to is a Cabin with Balcony or a Minisuite (Upgrade). Possible upgrades are from inside cabin to outside cabin, outside cabin to cabin with balcony, or from balcony to minisuite, but the cabin category reserved remains the same. The same possibilities are valid for disability-access cabins. The highest typology and category that Perla Oro and Perla Diamante Members can be upgraded to is a Grand Suite (SuperUpgrade).
The upgraded cabin must be available at the time of reservation; changes are not permitted if a cabin is cancelled and becomes available after the time of reservation.
Members will only be upgraded when Costa is able to verify that the cruise the privilege has been requested for is an additional cruise with respect to the number taken the previous year, therefore, from the third day of the cruise that entitles the Member to the privilege.
It is the Member’s responsibility to request the Upgrade or SuperUpgrade privilege. Costa will assign upgrades once their applicability and availability has been verified. Members entitled to this privilege who have not explicitly requested it before departure will not be entitled to the privilege retroactively and will not be able to substitute it in the form of other benefits.
The assignment of the privilege depends on the availability of cabins on the ship.
It is not possible to request the Upgrade or SuperUpgrade privilege on departures between August 1st and August 31st, on cruises in Northern Europe lasting 13 nights or more, on New Year’s cruises, Vernissage or Inaugural cruises, Around the World cruises or legs of Around the World cruises and on all the cruises in Asia on the Costa Neoromantica, Costa Serena, Costa Atlantica, Costa Firenze, and Costa Venezia. The possibility of receiving an Upgrade or SuperUpgrade must always be checked before reserving, and it is the Member’s responsibility to check directly with their Travel Agency, Costa Contact Center, or onboard Personal Cruise Consultant (who can apply it to new, onboard orders if the passenger has already sailed on cruises necessary to earn the benefit, or if the passenger is aboard the cruise that is allowing them to earn the benefit. It is possible to ask to use the Upgrade or SuperUpgrade benefit on minicruises of more than 3 nights (except charters, ‘Protagonists of the Sea,’ Vernissage and Inaugural cruises, and Launchings and Costa Club Cruises), although cruises of 4 nights or less are excluded from the calculation of the number of cruises taken the previous year in order to earn this benefit.
The application of this Privilege is subject to cabin availability on the ship. It is not possible, moreover, to ask for the Upgrade or SuperUpgrade benefit onboard for consecutive cruises, even if the above conditions are satisfied.
The Upgrade and SuperUpgrade will be applied to cruises reserved for departure in the calendar year in which Members are entitled to this right, and purchased at the Deluxe rates. It cannot be applied for cruises reserved at the Basic and Guaranteed rate. The privilege is non-transferrable, and is only applied to the cabin in which the Member is entitled to travel.
For services and the awarding of cabin points concerning reservations made with an Upgrade or SuperUpgrade, cabin status will be determined by the cabin actually occupied during the cruise.

For Perla Diamante Members (Cabin Privilege)
Perla Diamante Members and anyone travelling in their cabin are entitled to use the VIP Lounge at the Palacrociere in Savona and the Palacruceros in Barcelona (Terminals D and E) while they await boarding. Perla Diamante Members
Perla Diamante Members and anyone travelling on the same cruise ticket can use the “Priority” queue, with other passengers entitled to the privilege, next to the queue for the other guests when boarding at the start of the cruise. As soon as Members arrive at the desk, Meet&Greet staff will provide the tag with boarding number dedicated to Perla Diamante Members.
The luggage of Members entitled to the priority disembarkation service will have a dedicated label in one of the first three label colors in the order of disembarkation, so that it can be among the first to be disembarked.
The order of embarkation and disembarkation may vary from cruise to cruise, depending on the embarkation ports, the ship’s expected departure or arrival times, Costa transfers, and in accordance with security regulations, and may not be disputed by Members.
In the ports where Meet&Greet is not available, or where boarding occurs via bus transfer from the airport, Members will board directly along with the other guests, and it will therefore not be possible to use this service.

8.11    Medium-Priority Boarding at the start of the cruise (Cabin Privilege)
Perla and Perla Oro Members
Perla and Perla Oro Members and anyone travelling on the same cruise ticket are entitled to medium-priority boarding, meaning that only when they board at the start of the cruise, they will be given a priority boarding number regardless of when they arrive at the port. Members must check that their ticket contains their Costa Club ID number and Club membership level, and must tell staff at the Customer Service desk when they arrive at the port so that they can collect their boarding number: Meet&Greet personnel will provide the tag with boarding number dedicated to Perla and Perla Oro Members.
The order of embarkation or disembarkation may vary from cruise to cruise, depending on the embarkation ports, the ship’s expected departure or arrival times, Costa transfers, and in accordance with security regulations, and may not be disputed by Members.

These will be deducted from their account at the end of the cruise as long as purchases are made with the card of the Member entitled to them, and in the case of joint accounts, of the Member whose name the account is in.
These credits cannot be used to receive discounts on service charges. Onboard credits that are not used cannot be reimbursed, are non-transferrable, cannot be used on future cruises, and cannot be substituted with any other kind of privilege. The sum of credits spent for onboard purchases does not earn Members Costa Club points.
To use credits, the Member’s total onboard purchases (hotel service charges excluded) must be greater than the total number of credits (For example: If I’m entitled to a credit of 75 euros but my total purchases at cruise’s end comes to 15 euros, the credit of 60 euros will not be in any way reimbursed or converted into cash).
Credits are also valid for services reserved prior to the cruise and paid for onboard.

The list of products and services may differ from ship to ship and may not be available in equal numbers on ships at a given time. Art. 9 – Legal Information

9.2     Costa may suspend or terminate the Program before the end of the validity period indicated in Art. 2 only for a justified cause, in accordance with articles 1989 et seq. of the Italian Civil Code.

9.3     Costa reserves the right to modify or supplement the conditions for participating in the Program, privileges, and ways of earning points at any time, as long as this is not to the detriment of the Member and does not undermine their rights acquired in the course of the Program.
These modifications or additions will be made public via the website www.costacruises.com or by other dedicated channels.
Modifications or additions to program participation conditions are considered to be accepted unless a Member expresses a written objection within 2 (two) months of the publication of the new General Conditions on the Costa Cruises websites, or of receiving the communication personally, and, in doing so, expressly requests the termination of their participation in the program. In such circumstances, upon receiving this written objection, program participation will be terminated, and membership will cease.

(hereinafter also “Costa Cruises”), as data controller, in accordance with article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (hereinafter the “GDPR”), provides the following information regarding the processing of the personal data which you (hereinafter also “Member”), as the data subject, have provided during registration for Programma Costa Club [Costa Club Program] (hereinafter the “Program”). The present information is also available in the “Privacy” section of the website www.costacruises.com and aboard at the Hospitality Service Desk/Reception.
This disclosure refers to the processing of the Member’s personal data:

a) provided when registering for the Program through any Club registration channel;
b) collected during the Club’s ordinary administration (total amount spent during a cruise, type of cruises taken, etc.)

10.2    Purposes and legal basis of processing. Members’ personal data will be processed for the following purposes:

a)    Purposes regarding the Program, for managing a Member’s participation in the Costa Club Program and, specifically, for:
i. awarding the Member points and other advantages connected to participation in the Costa Club Program;
ii. allowing the Member to benefit from the Privileges listed in Art. 8.1 of these General Conditions;
iii. managing aspects related to possession of a Costa Club Card;
iv. providing the related services in the modes set down in the present General Conditions;
v. delivering to members the institutional communications with an impact on membership and the benefits included in the program.
Specifically, Costa Cruises can use the Member’s email address, cellphone number, and/or mailing address provided at the time of registration with Costa Club or during participation in the program.
b)    Emailing of informational and promotional communications related to Costa Club.
The legal basis of the processing is Costa’s legitimate interest in ensuring that Members are always informed about initiatives related to the Club.
However, Members may at any time request not to receive the aforementioned communications any longer by clicking on the appropriate link present in every communication that Costa sends.
Said request will not impact the sending of any communications for marketing purposes discussed below at d) as long as the Member has provided their expressed consent.
c)    Statistical Purposes. The Member’s personal information will also be processed for the elaboration of anonymous aggregate statistics connected or pertaining to Costa Cruises’ activities in the framework of Costa Club. d)    Marketing purposes, which include promotional activities concerning products and/or services of Costa Cruises, third party commercial partners of Costa, or other companies in the Carnival Group to which Costa Cruises belongs (so-called direct and indirect marketing). Specifically, Members’ information can be processed for sending communications in both automated modes (email, fax, text, instant messaging applications, etc.) and non-automated modes (ordinary mail, telephone with operator, etc.)
Processing for marketing purposes may take place only with the Member’s specific and express consent, which represents the legal basis of such processing and which the Member may revoke at any time.
e)    Profiling purposes to use electronic tools to analyze customer choices, consumption habits, and market research for the purpose of improving Costa Cruises’ offering of services and commercial information and better aligning them with Members’ interests.

Any refusal to provide the personal information requested, wholly or partly, even in the course of the Program’s implementation, may make it impossible for Costa Cruises and the third-party companies that provide services within the program’s framework to implement the program completely or correctly perform the obligations deriving from it.
Providing personal data that is not marked by an asterisk (*), on the other hand, is optional, and not doing so will have no consequences on registration and participation in the program.
Finally, Members have the right to freely express their consent, which they may revoke at any time, for the further purposes of marketing and profiling mentioned above. The lack of or subsequent revocation of this consent will in no way affect the Member’s participation in the Costa Club Program.
