General Information
Do I need to bring an electrical adapter?
All of our suites are equipped with standard North American sockets (Type A, sometimes Type B). If traveling with European, Asian or non-North American appliances/devices, we recommend bringing an adaptor.
What credit cards does the resort accept?
Visa, Master Card, and American Express, only.
Do you offer rates that are not all-inclusive?
No, the only rates we offer are all-inclusive.
Is there an ATM at the hotel?
Yes, we have two ATMs, one located in the main lobby. One ATM dispenses pesos and the other dispenses USD.
Is a credit card required at check-in?
Yes. A pre-authorized HOLD may be applied. Please consult with our Front Desk staff for specific details.
Is pre-arrival check-in available?
No, we do not offer pre-arrival check-in.
Upon arrival, can I upgrade my room?
Yes, but it is subject to availability. Additional fees may apply, except for World of Hyatt members. This applies to Discoverist, Explorist & Globalist members. For more details, visit hyatt.com/world
Do I need to bring money and exchange my currency to Mexican Pesos when I arrive?
Your all-inclusive plan includes meals, drinks, entertainment, and many fun activities. However, we recommend bringing extra cash for off-site expenses, spa services, tours, and transfers. The resort will provide US Dollar to Mexican Peso exchange services subject to availability. Cash payments are accepted in CAN/US Dollars, and Mexican Pesos.
Is there a secure place to keep valuables?
In-Room Safes are included in all suite categories. Our resort is not liable for unattended items left in public areas.
Does the resort have a hurricane policy?
Yes. Please contact resort for further details, hurricane policies are liable to change.
Does the resort have a smoking policy?
Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta is a smoke-free family resort, however, we do offer designated areas where smoking is allowed.
What is the tipping policy at the resort?
All tips and gratuities are included in your all-inclusive package. Additional gratuities are most welcome by our staff should services exceed your expectations.
Can I drink local water?
We recommend not to drink faucet/tap water, the resort will provide filtered and bottled water at all time. Water and ice cubes served at all resort venues are always filtered and safe to drink. Certified by third-party auditors, our resort is compliant to the highest level in industry sanitation standards & best practices.
Does the resort provide medical services or support?
A medical doctor is available on-site from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, at additional cost. Certified lifeguards are available in pool and beach areas, first aid is provided on a 24-hour basis for emergency situations. We hold the highest level of safety industry standards, however, the resort will hold limited liability for emergency situations incurred by guests.
What is the minimum age for check-in?
18 years of age.
Is it possible to mail items that we purchased back home?
It depends on the items, as some restrictions apply due to Customs regulations. Additional fees apply.
Are pets allowed at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta?
No, due to resort policy.
Is there babysitting available? If so, is there a fee for babysitting?
Yes, babysitting service is available with a prior request. The fee per hour is US$15 per child. An additional charge of US$15 for transportation is charged after 8:00 PM. Prices are subject to change.
Inclusions
What’s included in my all-inclusive package?
All drinks and meals are included. On-site entertainment, fitness facilities, non-motorized aquatic sports (kayak tours), daily outdoor and indoor activities, in-suite minibar, free wifi, and kids zones are included. Tastings, and multiple social activities are also part of the all-inclusive package.
The following services are not included as part of the all-inclusive plan, except as otherwise provided:
- Spa & beauty services
- Third party on-site boutique stores
- Off-site tours and excursions
- Airport transfers, taxis, local shuttle services, car rentals
- National and international telephone calls
- Certain specialty wines and spirits
- Laundry and dry-cleaning services
- Nanny services
- Lobster and Romantic Dinners
Does the resort offer day passes?
Yes, with the following pricing schedule:
- Day Pass (9AM – 5PM): Adults- USD $65 | Kids- USD $45
- Night Pass (6PM – 12AM): Adults- USD $65 | Kids- USD $45
- Full Pass (11AM – 11PM): Adults- USD $95 | Kids- USD $65
Day passes are subject to availability, and prices are subject to change.

Transportation and Location
How far is the resort from the airport and downtown Puerto Vallarta?
We are located a thirty-minute drive away from Puerto Vallarta International Airport, and about a five minute drive to downtown Puerto Vallarta.
Are airport transfers included to and from the resort?
You may schedule airport transportation an other services prior to arrival by usiung our E-Concierge service.
Does the hotel provide shuttles or transportation around the local area?
No, however, there is a taxi stand on our premises.
Is parking available at the resort?
Yes, we offer guest-only free parking.
Do you have any unique offerings for birthdays, anniversaries and honeymoons?
Yes, we offer a welcome amenity on a complimentary basis, which is a bottle of sparkling wine or a small cake for two. There are other options to enhance the celebration, subject to a fee, such as the romantic dinners for two and Spa treatments for couples.
Dining
What are the dress codes for the different restaurants?
Please consult the dining & drinks section of our website for specific dress code classifications per venue. Below some further guidelines:
- Beach Attire: Swimsuit attire is welcome.
- Casual, or Resort Casual: Access with dry bathing suits permitted. Men require a t-shirt and women require a cover-up. Sandals are required.
- Smart Casual: Dress shorts, close-toed shoes, collared short-sleeve shirts are required for men. Women require dress sandals.
Note: The above guidelines are illustrative a not definitive.
Do I need to make dinner reservations?
No. Reservations are not required, all dining venues are available on a first come, first serve basis.
If I am a vegetarian or have special dietary needs, will I have adequate options?
Yes, the resort offers gluten-free, vegetarian options, and additional assistance in accommodating special dietary needs (please notify the resort ahead of time, should this be the case).
What are the options for kids?
Children menus are available at all restaurants.
Do you offer premium branded spirits?
Yes. Cocktails made with international and national premium branded spirits are yours to enjoy as part of your all-inclusive plan. Club guests will enjoy cocktails made with first-rate liquors at our VIP Lounge. A variety of specialty spirits and bottles, such as champagne and top-shelf wines are available for purchase.
Is there room service?
Yes. 24-hour, all-inclusive suite service is available, limited to the total guests per suite.
Are there any restaurants opened late at night?
Restaurants close at 10:30 PM or 11:00 PM.
What types of beer are available?
Draft beer, XX Lager and XX Ambar are available in all of the bars. Guestrooms are stocked with Tecate and Tecate Light. Heineken is only served at the Club Tower VIP Lounge.
Are their age requirements for entering bars on property?
Yes, the legal drinking age in Mexico is 18. You must be 18 years and older to enter our bars.
Do any of the restaurants close during certain times of the year?
All of our restaurants are open year-round. One or two restaurants may close at night during the week whenever there is a theme night. Please contact the hotel for details.
Which restaurants are recommended for large parties? Does group dining need to be planned in advance?
We welcome large parties at any of our restaurants; however, we do not take dining reservations. Service is provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Does the resort have a swim-up bar?
Yes, we have a swim-up bar, Pool Bar.
What type of liquor is included within the rooms?
Rooms at the Main tower have a minibar stocked with beer and soft drinks. Minibars in rooms at the Club tower are stocked with mini bottles of rum, tequila, vodka, and Jack Daniels, in addition to beer.
Do you offer private dinners in-room or on the beach?
Yes, and we have special menus subject to an additional fee with multiple locations and menu options. Please contact concierge for more information.
Are kids allowed at every restaurant? Are there any restrictions?
Children are welcome at every restaurant, and there are no restrictions. Our bars are restricted to adults aged 18 and over.
Accommodations
We are traveling with a couple of friends. Can we request adjoining rooms?
Yes. Connecting rooms are available and may be arranged upon arrival. Connecting rooms are subject to availability.
Can I choose my room online?
No, you can only choose room and/or suite category online. Special requests are noted and confirmation is subject to availability upon arrival.
What is the difference between an Ocean View and an Ocean Front room?
Ocean Front rooms offer unobstructed, panoramic views of the sea. Ocean View rooms may offer partial views of the sea.
Are there balconies in all rooms?
All Club tower rooms and suites have a balcony or a terrace (rooms on the ground floor). 50 rooms and all Suites at the Main Tower have a balcony with wide open sliding doors.
Is Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta, family friendly?
Yes. We provide activities and resort amenities for all ages, including kids and teens.
What is concierge service?
Offering an exceptional hospitality experience, our concierge desk will be your first point of contact for any questions that you may have, concierges also offer orientation and assistance in coordinating on-site and off-site services. Our concierge desk is available from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
What type of beds are offered?
We offer king and double beds. Specific details on bedding configurations per suite are outlined in our Rooms section of website.
Are singles welcome?
Yes! With our varied resort activities, you will find ample opportunities to make new and long-lasting connections with like-minded people.
Are the rooms handicapped accessible? Is the resort wheelchair accessible?
We offer ground floor suites that are fully equipped for guests with special physical needs, please contact us to learn more, and to book. Most areas in the resort are wheelchair accessible. Two restaurants are not.
Activities
How can I arrange tours and excursions outside the resort?
You may schedule tours, activities and other services prior to arrival by using our E-Concierge tool.
What is the difference between an activity and an excursion?
Activities are included in the all-inclusive plan such as games and the fitness classes. Excursions are optional off-site activities at an additional charge.
Are cabanas available for rent?
Yes, we do have larger cabanas for rent daily. Please contact our concierge for pricing and inclusions. Palapas, (shaded palms with lounge chairs) are on a first come first serve basis.
Are Spa treatments included? If not, what is the price and can they be booked in advance?

Can I sunbathe topless on the beach?
No. Due to local regulations, nudity is not allowed in beach areas.
Are the pools heated?
Yes, all pools are heated.
What types of watersports are offered?
We offer all-inclusive watersports, including kayak tours, snorkeling, and boogie boarding. There are also off-premises activities for a fee: jet skis, paddle boarding, kayaking, and catamarans. There is a 20-minute ride by taxi to the Marina to catch the catamaran and jet skis. Catamarans last 7 hours and jet skis 2 hours.
Do you offer photography on property? Would this need to be planned in advance?
Yes, we offer photography services within our premises through a third party and are subject to a fee. Arrangements can be made through the Concierge during your stay or prior to arrival.
