It was only a matter of time.  Now that the COVID19 vaccine is more readily available companies are starting to require proof of inoculation for COVID19.

Crystal Cruises is one of the first  implementing the new rule.  It announced  today that guests must take both doses of the vaccine at least 14-days prior to the cruise.

This new mandate adds to the luxury line’s Crystal Clean+ 4.0 measures that also include negative COVID-19 tests for both guests and crew. Additional  procedures include temperature checks at the terminal prior to boarding, a nimble mask policy, social distancing guidelines, enhanced cleaning and disinfection measures, reduced capacity and more.

“We are encouraged by the progress being made with the COVID-19 vaccines and what this means for our Crystal Family and the travel industry as a whole as we eagerly look forward to exploring the world again,” says Crystal’s interim president and CEO, Jack Anderson.

“We know peace of mind is the greatest luxury. Thus  the vaccine requirement is simply the best way to ensure the safest possible Crystal Experience for all.”

Cruise pause

As of this writing Crystal is pausing operations through May 2021 for its River fleet and into June for its Ocean ships.  Crystal Esprit and Crystal Endeavor are also in a  hiatus through August.

Crystal’s international crew also require vaccinations and COVID19 tests.

Paper work

Besides vaccinations and negative COVID19 results, passengers will undergo a bit of paper work prior to boarding. The process starts with  an online form that acknowledges all the requirements have been met.

Crystal says it will continue to evaluate and update its Crystal Clean+ 4.0 health and safety protocols for its luxury brand experiences.  The  company operates Crystal Cruises, Crystal River Cruises and  Crystal Yacht Cruises.  And soon,  Crystal Expedition Cruises with the debut of Crystal Endeavor. The German-built, PC6-designated vessel for Crystal Expedition Cruises is on track to debut in Summer 2021.

Crystal Cruises offers all-inclusive fares that buy you a luxurious experience of fine food, seamless service and redefined elegance.
