Much anticipated ship is just a year away from launch

It was a momentous occasion watching Silversea Cruises’ stunning Silver Moon hitting the water for the first time. The ritual ‘baptismal’ took place at Fincantieri Shipyard in Ancona, Italy.
Manfredi Lefebvre, executive chairman of the line officiated the event saying, “This celebration holds particular significance in the history of Silversea, as it occurs in the same year as our cruise line’s 25th anniversary as the leading pioneer in ultra-luxury cruising.”
Silver Moon goes outside the nautical bar in typical Silversea pioneering style. One example is S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste)℠, an innovative new culinary program that will unlock immersive culinary experiences for guests.
The idea behind S.A.L.T. is to heighten the character of food as a means to travel deeper into a destination, by showcasing entire ecosystems around the culinary cultures of the world.
In the S.A.L.T. Kitchen, Lab, and Bar, guests can educate their palates with regional ingredients and culinary customs.
The Moon and the Muse
The Moon echos her sister ship Silver Muse’s design with a touch of upgrading in the Dolce Vita lounge, the Connoisseur’s Corner, the Pool Deck, and the Spa and Fitness Centre.
Sporting unique new looks are Silver Moon’s Kaiseki restaurant and La Dame restaurant–which is now swathed in bespoke Lalique crystal panels.
The re-visualized motifs continue to La Terrazza, Silver Note, Atlantide, the Arts Café, The Grill, Spaccanapoli, the Panorama Lounge, the Observation Library, the Venetian Lounge, and the casino.
More space for sybarites and sunners
Sybarites now have more deck space to pursue the sun and the pool–which sports easier access to the water. Pamper-seekers will find increased bliss options at the expanded Zagara Beauty Spa.
Flying to the Moon
The Moon debuts August 6, 2020 in the Med where she spends that summer before heading to the US in November.
After November Silver Moon does destinations in Central America and the Caribbean. Ports of call include Barbados, Antigua, and Puerto Rico, among others.
Her big brouhaha happens January 7, 2021. That’s when she embarks on the Grand South America voyage which stops at 37 destinations in 20 countries.
