ITINERARY

Day 1 Auckland Welcome
Arrive in Auckland, where sailboats drift across the harbor and vibrant waterfront neighborhoods set the tone for the journey ahead. This evening, gather with your Roam Director and fellow travelers for a welcome reception followed by dinner highlighting New Zealand's coastal flavors.

DAY 2 TO THE MARLBOROUGH SOUND
Fly south to Marlborough, where rolling vineyards meet open skies. Settle in for a relaxed lunch at a boutique estate, thoughtfully paired with expressive local wines. By afternoon, a private boat carries you deep into the Marlborough Sounds as you arrive at your lodge on Endeavour Inlet. YOUR CHOICE After settling in, explore the shoreline, access nearby walking paths, or simply relax on your veranda as evening settles over the water.

Day 3 QUEEN CHARLOTTE TRACK
Travel by boat to historic Ship Cove, gateway to one of New Zealand's most celebrated coastal trails. With expert guides, trek a rewarding stretch of the Queen Charlotte Track toward Resolution Bay. Return to the lodge for a gourmet seafood lunch showcasing the bounty of these waters. YOUR CHOICE Spend the afternoon kayaking, paddleboarding, exploring additional sections of the track, soaking in spa tubs, or unwinding at your own pace beside the inlet.

DAY 4 MARLBOROUGH SOUND
Another day unfolds in this secluded coastal haven, where sea and forest meet in quiet harmony. Dinner this evening is relaxed and atmospheric – a final night immersed in the Sounds. YOUR CHOICE Spend the day as actively – or as leisurely – as you wish. Paddle a kayak or stand-up paddleboard along the sheltered shoreline, explore walking paths that weave through native bush, or follow the Queen Charlotte Track a little farther at your own pace. Prefer to see the Sounds from a different perspective? Optional boat excursions and scenic flights can be arranged independently through the lodge.

DAY 5 TO QUEENSTOWN
Depart the Marlborough Sounds by boat and board a scenic charter flight south. Snow-capped peaks and braided rivers stretch beneath you as you descend into Queenstown.  YOUR CHOICE The afternoon is yours – explore the lakeside town, ride the gondola for panoramic views, browse galleries, or enjoy lunch wherever the moment leads. Dinner this evening is at the lodge, included but relaxed – yours to enjoy when and how you please.

DAY 6 SHOTOVER RIVER & SKYLINE
Begin the day carving through narrow canyon walls on a private jet boat ride along the Shotover River, an exhilarating journey through landscapes shaped by glacial force. Then rise above it all by helicopter, soaring over the Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu before returning to town. YOUR CHOICE The remainder of the day is open. Explore Queenstown's lakefront, book an additional adventure, unwind at the spa, or relax at the lodge overlooking the river.

DAY 7 MILFORD SOUND
Journey into Fiordland National Park, where winding roads reveal mirrored lakes, ancient forests, and towering peaks. Cruise through Milford Sound – a true fiord carved by glaciers – where waterfalls cascade from sheer cliffs and mountains rise dramatically from the sea. In the evening, return to Queenstown.

DAY 8 QUEENSTOWN
After days of alpine adventure, today unfolds entirely around your interests. YOUR CHOICE Join a guided art tour visiting local galleries and studios, or spend the afternoon exploring the region's craft breweries and wineries. Prefer a fully unscripted day? Hike lakeside trails, cruise across Lake Wakatipu, or linger over coffee with mountain views. The evening is yours to dine at one of the many excellent restaurants in Queenstown or locally at Arthur's Point.

DAY 9 TO TAUPŌ
Fly north to Auckland before continuing by road through rolling countryside to Lake Taupō. By late afternoon, arrive at Huka Lodge, where the Waikato River flows past, emerald and swift. YOUR CHOICE Settle into the grounds – explore riverside paths, visit the spa, relax in the gardens, or simply enjoy the stillness of the setting. Dinner this evening is included, a la carte and at your leisure.

DAY 10 HUKA LODGE
A full day invites you to engage with the landscapes surrounding Taupō. This evening, gather for a farewell reception and dinner in one of the lodge's distinctive settings. YOUR CHOICE Cast a line fly fishing with expert guides, try a morning rafting excursion in nearby waters, cruise across Lake Taupō to view Māori rock carvings, or join a guided walk along the Waikato River to Huka Falls. Or you can spend the entire day at leisure – cycling, enjoying the spa, or relaxing on the lodge lawns.

DAY 11 MORNING AT HUKA & RETURN TO AUCKLAND
Enjoy a final morning along the quiet sweep of the Waikato River. After lunch, travel north through rolling countryside back to Auckland. YOUR CHOICE Go fly fishing with expert guidance or join a walk along the Waikato River before departing. Or simply savor a slow morning – coffee on the terrace, one last stroll through the gardens – before the journey continues. The evening is yours at leisure near the Auckland waterfront, an easy return to the city where your journey began.

Journey On
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing. Transfers are included to Auckland Airport (AKL). YOUR CHOICE Depart in the morning with included transfers, or linger longer with a post-stay in New Zealand for an extended adventure.
