Windstar Cruises Names Stijn Creupelandt Vice President of Hotel Operations and Product Development
SEATTLE, WA, August 5, 2021 – Windstar Cruises has chosen Stijn Creupelandt, a 20-year veteran of the luxury cruise industry, as the small ship cruise line’s new vice president of hotel operations and product development.
Creupelandt will be in charge of the overall leadership, management, and operation of the Windstar guest experience, including all onboard hotel services, entertainment, wellness + spa, shore excursions, guest relations, food + beverage, and customer loyalty.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Stijn to the Windstar family,” said Windstar President Christopher Prelog. “We’re fortunate to add his luxury cruise experience and astute cultural understanding to our executive team, and I’m confident Stijn will continue to build upon the award-winning service, the once-in-a-lifetime shore excursions, the amazing food, and all of the 180 degrees from ordinary experiences that Windstar is known for.”
Creupelandt will be based in the company’s new Miami headquarters, reporting directly to Prelog. He will work in tandem with newly-promoted Vice President of Marine & Technical Operations Paul Barrett to manage all of the operations aboard Windstar’s fleet of six yachts.
Windstar announced earlier this year that the company will be moving its office from Seattle to Miami in June of 2022, with some corporate positions moving to Denver and others operating remotely from the Seattle area. The Miami office will accommodate mostly cruise operation functions and some direct supporting teams to operations.
Creupelandt was most recently the director of hotel services at Seabourn Cruise Line, before that serving as the director of human resources and in many other roles throughout his 20-year career there. He holds a college degree in hotel catering from Ter Duinen in Koksijde, Belgium, as well as a master’s in hotel management from the Higher Institute for Hotel Management, ISGH in Namur, Belgium.

SEATTLE, WA, May 19, 2020 – Small ship cruise operator Windstar Cruises announced today the 148-guest Wind Spirit will be its first yacht to resume sailing after suspending operations further due to the ongoing impact of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. Wind Spirit will resume sailing in Tahiti with its first cruise departing on September 3, 2020.
“We have taken extraordinary measures to operate our yachts safely,” said Xanterra and Windstar Cruises CEO Andrew Todd. “While we look forward to welcoming guests aboard again, we believe this further suspension of operations is the responsible action to take. We have laid plans for a resumption of small ship cruising beginning in September.”
148-guest Wind Spirit: Resumes sailing September 3, 2020 in Tahiti on previously scheduled itineraries.
342-guest Wind Surf: Returns November 29, 2020 sailing in the Caribbean on previously scheduled itineraries before heading to the Mediterranean in April 2021.

to the Caribbean in December 2020 to pick up sailings from Star Legend and Star Pride. Then Star Breeze will offer a few new Caribbean itineraries until June when it heads to Alaska. A new 10-day Alaskan Splendors sailing was added on June 3, 2021 after which it resumes its previously scheduled Alaska itineraries.
312-guest Star Legend: Due to the delay, some sailings are canceled and others will be picked up by the Star Breeze. Star Legend begins sailing March 1, 2021 in the Mediterranean and will pick up some sailings previously scheduled for Star Pride.
312-guest Star Pride: Due to the delay, some sailings are cancelled and others will be picked up by Star Breeze. The Star Pride will begin sailing July 5, 2021 in Northern Europe.

Windstar Cruises Appreciates Travel Advisors Now More than Ever
New Policy Pays Commissions on Future Cruise Credits; Favorite Agent Promotion Is Back
SEATTLE, WA, May 5, 2020 – Windstar Cruises is making a major change to its travel agent commission policy as well as announcing the return of a favorite promotion for travel advisors. Both announcements are timed to honor National Travel and Tourism Week and National Travel Advisor Day (Wednesday, May 6).
Windstar Cruises’ Travel Assurance Booking Policy already allows travelers to cancel their cruise up to 15 days prior to departure and receive a 100 percent future cruise credit to be used on all sailings through December 31, 2021. Starting immediately, however, Windstar is changing its policy to pay agent commissions on all future cruise credits, recognizing that far more cruises have been cancelled than in the past.
“Travel Advisors have always been important partners of Xanterra Travel Collection,” said Xanterra and Windstar Cruises CEO Andrew Todd. “A few years ago, Windstar Cruises introduced Star Promise – our commitment to travel advisors. In keeping with that pledge, it is important to update our policy to recognize the hard work and support of our travel advisor partners.”
In addition to the commission change, Windstar is pleased to announce the return of its most popular promotion for travel advisors – the “Sell 3, Sail Free” program, which will begin on May 18.
Travel advisors must sell three staterooms, and once fully deposited, the advisor (and a guest) sail for free on a cruise departing by April 30, 2021. Travel advisors will be confirmed 60 days out based on availability and will pay only taxes, fees, and port expenses, plus gratuities.
