Arrive in Barcelona, the cultural heart of northern Spain. You are met at the airport by your A&K representative and transferred to your hotel. Kick off your journey this evening when you meet your fellow guests at a welcome briefing and dinner.

Day 2 - BARCELONA
This morning, enjoy a panoramic city tour, highlighting the playful, flowing Modernist designs of Antoni Gaudí. Tour the still-unfinished Sagrada Família Basilica with its wild towers and staggering height, and also see La Pedrera and Casa Mila. After lunch, Ride Like a Local when you descend Montjuic by cable car for panoramic views of the city. Enjoy a cruise of the harbor area, then spend the remainder of your day exploring on your own as a family.

Day 3 - BARCELONA
Join a local expert for a walking tour of the labyrinthine Gothic Quarter, and then explore the famous Boqueria, one of the largest open-air food markets in all of Europe. Sample the wide array of products on offer, including perhaps a fresh, piping hot churro, before continuing to the airport for your flight to Granada. On arrival, transfer to your hotel.

Day 4 - GRANADA
Take your time with a relaxing morning at your resort. Drive to Granada for a culinary demonstration and Family Foodie Experience introducing the fine art of Spanish paella, which you enjoy for lunch. Later, visit the famed, fairy-tale-like Alhambra. This massive Moorish palace was built in the mid-13th century and later housed the royal court of Ferdinand and Isabella. Return to your resort for an evening at leisure.

Day 5 - JEREZ
Depart for the coast today. In Jerez, venture behind the scenes at the world-renowned Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, witnessing the training of these exceptional horses and visiting with them in their stables. Sit down to a late tapas lunch, where parents also enjoy an introduction to the world of sherry. Continue to the port city of Cádiz and your oceanfront Spanish parador.

Day 6 - GIBRALTAR
Today offers a tantalizing choice of excursions. You can spend a relaxed Saturday in Cádiz, exploring one of the oldest cities in Europe, shopping with the locals in the Central Market and watching the world go by. Or, venture to nearby Gibraltar, a British colony on the Spanish mainland, and spend the day investigating this unusual location; keep an eye out for the Barbary macaque, the only monkey species native to Europe.

Day 7 - SEVILLE
Depart this morning for Seville, and start with some fancy footwork at a private flamenco lesson. After taking time for a quick bite, embark on a walking tour of the Santa Cruz district that includes a visit to the Royal Alcázar. Tonight, watch Seville’s dancing pros in action at a fabulous post-dinner flamenco show in one of the city’s best venues.

Day 8 - MADRID
Ride Like a Local on a high-speed train to Madrid, the capital of Spain. On arrival, visit the San Miguel Market, one of the best places in the city to sample tapas. Then, set out on a treasure hunt through the Royal Palace of Madrid, a fancy jewel box of a palace featuring works by Francisco de Goya and 215 absurd clocks. Afterward, your evening is free to explore on your own.

Day 9 - SEGOVIA
Travel to Segovia, a city that predates the arrival of the Romans. Take a walking tour of the Old Town that includes the Roman Aqueduct and the Jewish Quarter. After lunch at your leisure, continue for a private tour of the Alcázar (castle) and its Royal Armory (complete with authentic Middle Ages suits of armor and weapons) before returning to Madrid. This evening, celebrate your adventure at a farewell dinner with your Resident Tour Director and fellow guests.
