Day: 1
Meet in Frankfurt and transfer to gracious La Nouvelle Etoile, moored in historic Remich. After a welcome reception, enjoy a gourmet dinner on board.
Day: 2
Visit Luxembourg's 1,000-year-old capital city with its cobbled streets and imposing fortress walls. After lunch, La Nouvelle Etoile cruises along the Moselle to Roman Trier, the overnight mooring.
Day: 3
Explore ancient Trier, one of the oldest towns in Germany, including the old town's 98-foot-high Porta Nigra and the magnificent cathedral. After lunch on board the barge, cruise a picturesque section of the river to Bernkastel, known as the "Pearl of the Moselle." Visit the renowned estate of Dr. Pauly-Bergweiler for a tasting of the region's wonderful wines.
Day: 4
Cruise to beautiful Zell where you have time to wander the town's marketplace with its notorious statue of a black cat, the town's mascot appearing on everything from shop shingles to the labels of local wine bottles. Then visit the family cellars of Franz-Josef Weis to sample more of the local vintages.
Day: 5
In Cochem today, see the Baroque town hall and St. Martin's Church. In the early afternoon, drive to romantic Castle Burg Eltz. Nestled in a forest above the Moselle, this 12th-century fortress has been home to the same family for more than 800 years.
Day: 6
Cruise to Koblenz, a 2,000-year-old city at the confluence of the Moselle and Rhine rivers, where you stroll the beautiful streets with their cozy lanes and romantic squares. Join your captain this evening for a festive farewell dinner to celebrate the cruise week.
Day: 7
After breakfast, transfer back to Frankfurt.
