Pivoine, A Belmond Boat – Camargue

Meet in Avignon and board Pivoine for a Champagne welcome reception, followed by a gourmet dinner prepared by your private chef.

Begin the day with a visit to the Pont du Gard, a monumental Roman aqueduct that has spanned the Gardon River since the first century. After lunch on board, cruise toward Avignon, then set out to Châteauneuf-du-Pape for a private tasting of its prestigious red wines at a local estate.

Spend the morning in Avignon, the walled city that served as the seat of the papacy in the 14th century. Visit the imposing Palais des Papes before enjoying time to wander its cobbled streets at your own pace. After lunch at a local restaurant, return to the barge and cruise to Vallabrègues for an overnight mooring.

After lunch on board, arrive in Arles and set out on a guided walk through its storied streets. Discover striking Roman ruins, tree-lined boulevards and colorful façades that once inspired Van Gogh during his prolific stay from 1888 to 1889.

This morning, cruise into the Canal du Rhône à Sète, gateway to the Camargue — a unique wetland region known for its pink flamingos and diverse birdlife. After lunch, visit a nearby lavender farm, where rows of purple blooms stretch across the landscape and the air is filled with its calming scent.

Continue your journey through the Camargue as you cruise toward the medieval walled town of Aigues-Mortes. Step ashore for a guided walk through its storied ramparts and lively streets filled with shops and cafés. Return to Pivoine for a celebratory farewell feast.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport, where your journey ends.
