ITINERARY

Day 1 - SUNDAY
Meet in Paris and transfer to 'Pivoine,' moored in Château-Thierry. Enjoy a Champagne reception upon arrival. Tonight, dine on board, savoring a gastronomic tour de force.

Day 2 - MONDAY
Visit Belleau Wood, the site of the first large-scale battle of World War I involving American troops. Then, take time to reflect at the solemn Aisne-Marne American Cemetery and Memorial. Return to the barge for another delicious dinner prepared by your talented chef.

Day 3 - TUESDAY
Spend a leisurely morning on board as 'Pivoine' winds its way past celebrated vineyards. After lunch, visit the family estate of Champagne J. de Telmont for a unique oenological workshop. Return to your barge by way of Hautvillers, a charming village where monk Dom Pérignon first made Champagne in the 18th century.

Day 4 - WEDNESDAY
Early risers can accompany the chef to the covered market in Épernay to select the best seasonal produce for today's lunch. Later, explore the town, surrounded by vineyards and known the world over for its Champagne houses. Enjoy a private tasting at Moët & Chandon and lunch ashore at La Briqueterie before cruising to Mareuil-sur-Ay.

Day 5 - THURSDAY
This morning's canal cruise offers opportunities for walking or cycling along the towpath. Then, visit Reims where the Gothic cathedral hosted coronations of French kings with glittering pageantry. Visit the Musée des Beaux-Arts and take time to explore the shops before returning to your barge.

Day 6 - FRIDAY
Travel to a family-run Champagne house today for a tasting. Then cruise to Châlons-en-Champagne with time to explore its Gothic cathedral and view the remarkable statuary at the Cloister Museum at Notre-Dame-en-Vaux. Back on board your barge, the chef prepares a sumptuous dinner for this evening's gala farewell to the cruise week.

Day 7 - SATURDAY
After breakfast, transfer to Paris, as your luxurious sojourn by barge draws to a close.
