ITINERARY

Day: 1
Transfer to Roi Soleil, moored near Béziers. You are welcomed on board with cocktails and dinner as the barge cruises on the canal to Villeneuve.

Day: 2
Roi Soleil passes through the great staircase of locks at Fonserannes. Today, you may explore Pézenas, known for its architecture and antique shops; Roquebrun, a picturesque village that clings to the hills above the River Orb; or Oppidum d'Ensérune, a pre-Roman archaeological site.

Day: 3
Cruise to the historic village of Capestang, where you may privately visit the 11th-century Cistercian Abbaye de Fontfroide, one of the most complete remaining abbey complexes in Europe.

Day: 4
Enjoy an excursion to charming Narbonne today. Once a Roman capital, the town is home to a famous archaeological museum within the Bishop's Palace, as well as a modern-day food market. The barge then cruises to the tranquil country village of Le Somail.

Day: 5
Visit the hilltop village of Minerve, with a dramatic history dating from the Crusades. Then, stop at a prized olive oil mill at Oulibo and a Languedoc village. Later in the day, cruise to Roubia.

Day: 6
Pass through many locks on the morning cruise to Homps. Explore Carcassonne, Europe's largest medieval fortress. Tonight's farewell dinner celebrates a wonderful week on board.

Day: 7
Transfer to Carcassonne, where your program ends.
