Arrive at the Burj Al Arab hotel in style: chauffeured in your private Rolls Royce. Explore Dubai with your personal guide, visiting the spice and gold souks via an abra (water taxi). Enjoy a sunset cruise aboard the luxurious Bateaux Dubai, then set out for the desert with its picturesque wadis (valleys). Ski the sandy slopes or cross them by ATV (in season), take in the spectacular scenery from the seat of a helicopter, or enjoy some of the finest shopping in the area's luxury boutiques.
Tour Dubai City and board an abra (water taxi) for a
short ride to the Spice Souk and the famous Gold Souk. There's
time to relax before an elegant dinner at Bateaux Dubai, a floating
restaurant on Dubai Creek, the busy waterway that separates the
city into two parts.
Day 3
A very short drive brings you into the Arabian Desert
and your luxury camp in its protected wilderness reserve. Al Maha
takes its style from traditional Bedouin encampments but combines
romance with state-of-the-art facilities. Relax in your private
plunge pool, take a guided nature walk, explore local folkways on
horseback and camelback or watch a falconry demonstration.
Days 4-5
Return to the city, where the next two days are yours
to enjoy at leisure. Choose half day tours of Dubai City or Sharjah
and explore the city's souks and landmarks. The Jumeirah Mosque is
a dominant landmark of Dubai city. Built in the medieval Fatimid
tradition, this stone structure is a tribute to modern Islamic
architecture. Explore desert wadis (oases) with sand skiing or dune
driving (seasonal), take a helicopter ride for incredible beach and
desert views or shop in some of the many luxury malls. If you're
visiting between November and March, Dubai's famous horse races
are another option. Of course, you may choose simply to relax on
your hotel's spectacular beach.
