ITINERARY

Day 1 - Arrive Delhi, India
Arrive in Delhi, the illustrious capital of India, where you are met and privately transferred to your iconic hotel.

Day 2 - Delhi
Explore Delhi, both old and new. Visit Jama Masjid, the most important mosque in India. Travel by rickshaw through Chandni Chowk bazaar and encounter Humayun’s Tomb — an architectural precursor to the Taj Mahal. Return to your hotel where, this evening, you enjoy a welcome cocktail and dinner.

Day 3 - Amritsar
Fly by private charter to Amritsar, located in the northwestern Indian state of Punjab. On arrival, enjoy a visit to a working farm, followed by a farm-fresh Punjabi lunch. This afternoon, visit Wagah on the Indian-Pakistani border to watch the flag retreat ceremony, a symbol of comradeship between the two countries, characterized by extravagant and swift dance-like exercises. Return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 4 - Amritsar
Explore the Golden Temple, a revered Sikh holy site surrounded by a sacred lake. Home to a huge copy of Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh holy book, the temple also houses a 24-hour kitchen serving about 100,000 people every day. Nearby is the Jallianwalla Bagh, a square that is the site of a 1919 massacre of hundreds of Amritsar citizens by British troops. Walk the square, now a poignant memorial park. Afterward, enjoy lunch at your hotel. This evening, return to the Golden Temple to witness the “putting to bed” ceremony of the holy book.

Day 5 - Agra
Today, fly to Agra via private charter. Upon arrival, explore the peerless Taj Mahal, a travel moment that never fails to amaze. Later, reboard your jet for a flight to Jaipur, where you settle into your stunning room set in a beautiful garden and featuring exotic design touches, such as local textiles, in a fantasy of pinks, purples and greens.

Day 6 - Jaipur
Explore the Amber Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Savor lunch at a small palace, and then visit the City Palace and Jantar Mantar Observatory, an open-air array of astronomical instruments built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II that includes the world’s largest stone sundial.

Day 7 - Jaipur

Day 8 - Khajuraho & Panna National Park

Continue overland to remote Panna National Park, a haven for India’s wildlife, and settle into your wilderness lodge. Day 9 - Panna National Park
Explore Panna National Park on two thrilling game drives, spotting crocodiles or perhaps the elusive Bengal tiger. Between game drives, enjoy an introduction to Indian spices during an interactive cooking demonstration, followed by lunch on the terrace of your lodge.

Day 10 - Udaipur
Fly by private charter to Udaipur. On arrival check in to your hotel, and then enjoy your afternoon at leisure. Tonight, dine at your hotel.

Day 11 - Udaipur
Discover the City Palace, with its grand views of Lake Pichola. Explore the Crystal Gallery in Fateh Prakash Palace, and stroll in the Sahelion Ki Bari (Garden of the Maids of Honor). Enjoy lunch and an interactive spice demonstration at a family-owned restaurant, prior to an afternoon at leisure. This evening, privately cruise by Jag Mandir, a palace on an island in Lake Pichola, followed by a Scenic Sundowner at your hotel before dinner.

Day 12 - Mumbai
Fly to Mumbai, formerly Bombay, via private charter to explore the city’s classic sights, including the Gateway of India. Visit the Prince of Wales Museum and Mani Bhawan, a museum dedicated to the life of Mahatma Gandhi. Next, see the Dhobi Ghat, the largest open-air laundry in the world. Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner.

Day 13 - Mumbai
Explore Mumbai through your five senses, seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling and touching, as you walk through a colonial precinct of the city. Learn more about the ingenuity of the dabawallas who deliver lunches across the city with astonishing accuracy. After savoring lunch at a local restaurant, visit a local spice market before returning to your hotel.

Day 14 - Depart Mumbai
After breakfast, transfer to the airport and depart.
