Day 1 - Arrive in Tennessee
Arrive in Nashville, Tennessee, today and transfer to your downtown hotel. Meet your Tour Manager and traveling companions at a welcome dinner tonight at 6:00 p.m. Meal: D
Day 2 - Nashville Sightseeing and Johnny Cash
Begin your Nashville City Stay with a narrated driving tour of the city to see the many Honkey Tonks, Music Row and even a full-scale replica of the Parthenon. Then, stop at music’s “Mother Church” the Ryman Auditorium. Learn the history of this world-renowned concert hall and former home of the Grand Ole Opry. After lunch, you will pay a visit to the Johnny Cash Museum which was opened to honor the life and music of the country superstar often referred to as the “Man in Black.” It houses the world’s largest collection of Johnny Cash memorabilia and artifacts, including a stone wall taken from his lake house in Hendersonville, Tennessee. At the Patsy Cline Museum you will learn how this legendary songstress impacted Country music through hundreds of artifacts, personal belongings, videos and more. Meals: B, L
Day 3 - Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage and Jack Daniel’s Distillery
Step into history this morning at The Hermitage, the home of the nation’s 7th president, Andrew Jackson. Learn the history of the man who was general in the U.S. Army, served in both houses of the U.S. Congress and was a Tennessee Superior Court justice. Tour the Jackson-renovated Federal-style mansion filled with family artifacts, stroll the beautiful grounds and see the tomb where he rests. Then head to the Jack Daniel Distillery for a tour of where this legendary whiskey is made. Enjoy an informative narrated tour to see the whiskey-making process, learn the history of the man himself and taste the product. Meals: B, L
Day 4 - Country Music Hall of Fame and RCA Studio B
Begin the day at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Called the “Smithsonian of Country Music” because of its collection of artists’ artifacts, photographs, recorded sound and vintage video, the museum is highlighted by its core exhibit Sing Me Back Home: A Journey Through Country Music. Later, get that Nashville feel at the historic RCA Studio B. Once the recording home of popular music titans such as Elvis Presley, Chet Atkins and the Everly Brothers, it was here the “Nashville Sound” was born in the 1960’s and helped establish Nashville as an international recording center. In Franklin, learn the importance of Tennessee area during the American Civil War. You will visit Carnton Plantation and learn how this home was used as a field hospital for wounded Confederate soldiers while the war raged around it. A stop at Carter House shows you a modest brick home, riddled with bullet holes. It was commandeered and used as a Federal command post. Meals: B, L
Day 5 - Belle Meade Historic Site and Grand Ole Opry
This morning you visit Belle Meade Historic Site & Winery. What started as a simple log cabin with 250 acres, it grew into a beautiful 1853 Greek Revival Mansion and one of the largest thoroughbred horse farms in the South with over 5400 acres. Walk through the mansion, stroll the grounds and among the outbuildings, outdoor game court and walking trail. The afternoon is free in Nashville to do some shopping, visit a Honky Tonk or simply breath in the “Country” air.
After dinner at the Opry Backstage grill, settle in to your reserved seats at the Granddaddy of Country shows, the Grand Ole Opry. Meals: B, D
Day 6 - Travel Home
After breakfast, a group transfer is available to the Nashville International Airport for flights out after 12:00 p.m. Meal: B
