ITINERARY

Day 1 - Arrive in The Lone Star State
Arrive in Texas today and transfer to your hotel in Fort Worth. Meet your Tour Manager at 6:00 p.m. for dining suggestions.

Day 2 - Dallas Sightseeing and Cowboys Stadium
A local guide joins you today for a sightseeing tour of Dallas. What began as a small trading post in 1841, Dallas has grown into a city of international renown and boasts many marvelous landmarks. See Pioneer Plaza with the largest bronze collection in the world as well as the Old Red Court House with its rich past. Also see Dealey Plaza where JFK was assassinated and the JFK memorial. In the afternoon, a guided tour of Cowboys Stadium shows you the private suites, press boxes and interior fountains. Walk the field, maybe toss the football and take some photos. Meals: B, L

Day 3 - Fort Worth, the Stock Yards and Cattle Drive
This morning a local guide joins us for a tour of Fort Worth. Once a major stop on the legendary Chisholm Trail, Fort Worth has a rich Western heritage. You’ll see Sundance Square and the new memorial dedicated to the memory of John F. Kennedy, who spent his last night in Fort Worth before that fateful day in Dallas. At the historic Fort Worth Stock Yards the old west comes alive as you watch the “Drovers” bring in their herd of Texas Longhorns through town, a recreation of life during the cattle drive era of the late 1800s. Tonight, dinner is at Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que. Since 1953, Cooper’s has been serving up traditional Hill Country pit bar-b-que. Taste the legend for yourself. Meals: B, D

Day 4 - Texas Rangers and the Silos at Magnolia

Day 5 - Lyndon Baines Johnson Country
Begin the day in Johnson City with a visit to the boyhood home of LBJ, our nation’s 36th President. We stop for a look at life in rural America in the 1920s before continuing on to Stonewall and the LBJ Ranch and Texas White House. See memorabilia for LBJ’s presidency along with interactive displays. On a driving tour of the ranch grounds see the presidential airplane, runway, LBJ’s automobiles and the Johnson family cemetery. On a ranger-guided tour of the Texas White House you will see the living and dining rooms as well as LBJ’s “west office” where he often conducted the nation’s business surrounded by his trusted advisors and world leaders. Day 6 - Y.O. Ranch and Kerrville Hills Winery
Today you head out into the rolling landscape of the Texas Hill Country. The destination is the Y.O. Ranch, a 40,000 acre ranch which has been home to numerous exotic wildlife since the 1960’s. These were introduced onto the land in conjunction with the San Antonio Zoo’s conservation program. On a wildlife tour you may see up to 55 different species of exotic animals roaming the ranch such as giraffes, African wildebeests and antelope, with one of the ranch’s guides. Also, enjoy an included lunch at the ranch before traveling to Kerrville Hills Winery. Here, you take a tour of the winery and sample their awardwinning wines in a relaxed and beautiful tasting room. Day 7 - Bandera and San Antonio
Travel south today to the town of , a blend of Indian, Mexican, Polish and Western cultures. The name “Cowboy Capital of the World” originated when Bandera became a staging area for the last great cattle drives of the late 1800’s. In San Antonio, a local guide climbs aboard for a sightseeing tour of the city. Explore the area’s rich history with visits to Mission San Jose, followed by shopping at El Mercado, an authentic Mexican Marketplace. Meal: B

Day 8 - The Alamo and Riverwalk River Cruise
Today, history comes to life at The Alamo as you visit this famous fort, where Davy Crockett and 185 other “Texans” fought against Mexico. You'll tour the museum and enjoy the spectacular IMAX movie, Alamo – The Price of Freedom. The afternoon is free to enjoy Texas hospitality and soak up the Spanish flavor of this picturesque city. Tonight, venture to the city’s famous Riverwalk for a leisurely cruise along the Paseo del Rio, followed by a special San Antonio farewell dinner. Meals: B, D

Day 9 - Travel Home
After breakfast, a group transfer to the San Antonio airport is available for flights out after 12:00 p.m. Meal: B
