ITINERARY

Reykjavík, Iceland
Welcome to Reykjavík, the world’s northernmost capital city and the largest settlement in Iceland. You’ll be warmly welcomed on board Scenic Eclipse by your Captain, crew and Discovery Team before setting sail for the journey of a lifetime.  With only up to 228 guests on board, you’re about to experience an immersive, engaging and intimate voyage through this fascinating part of the world. Ask the butler to bring a glass of Champagne to your suite and toast the start of your journey from your private verandah. Please book your flight to arrive into Reykjavik prior to 02:00 PM.

Dynjandi (Fjallfoss)
Ask the butler to bring you breakfast in bed after perusing the comprehensive 24-hour in-suite menu. Alternatively, choose to savour it in the Yacht Club before joining a session in the state-of-the-art on board theatre. Feel the excitement building as the Discovery Team explains how your Zodiac and optional helicopter^, submersible^, Scenic Freechoice and other Discovery Excursions will work in the coming days. Weather permitting, today we will visit the jewel of the Westfjords, the Dynjandi waterfall. Admire the cascading bridal veil and discover why it was nicknamed ‘the thunder’. At sea
As we cruise from Iceland across the Denmark Strait to the East Coast of Greenland, take the time to acquaint yourself with the exceptional range of facilities on board your ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht. Unlike other parts of Greenland, this region boasts a smooth and unbroken landscape, with the majestic Greenland Ice Sheet extending seamlessly to the shoreline, creating a breathtaking vista of icy grandeur. Within this pristine wilderness, Umivik Bay finds its place in history, serving as the launching point for Fridtjof Nansens pioneering expedition, which ultimately confirmed Greenlands complete coverage by ice. Skjoldungen Fjord
Wake up to enjoy some downtime today at the expansive 550m² Senses Spa#. Be rejuvenated with a yoga or Pilates class, or enjoy the reinvigorating treatments# and wellness experiences before an exciting day of discovery. Today, we will cruise through the icy waters of the Skjoldungen Fjord, a stunning landscape of glaciers, forests, and ancient history. Marvel at glaciers calving into the sea and colourful woods lining its shores. Learn about archaeological discoveries dating back over 4,000 years, revealing the presence of ancient civilisations. With its captivating blend of natural beauty and historical significance, exploring the Skjoldungen Fjord is a remarkable experience. Cruising Prince Christian Sound
Carving a breathtaking, naturally formed path between the mainland and the islands of Cape Farewell, Prince Christian Sound stands as one of Greenlands most picturesque waterways. Stretching over a hundred kilometres and flanked by magnificent glaciers and granite cliffs, this narrow passage is a sight to behold, accessible only during the summer months when the largest ice blockades melt away.  Scenic Eclipse offers a front-row seat to this natural spectacle, bringing you up close to towering glaciers, colossal icebergs, and imposing peaks, ensuring unmissable photo opportunities. In the evening, join your new friends for dinner to share your photographs. Perhaps enjoy fine French cuisine at Lumière, toasting this wonderful day with a glass of Champagne. Qaqortoq
Qaqortoq, nestled on Greenlands southwestern coast, is the administrative centre of the Kujalleq municipality. Surrounded by fjords, mountains, and the historic Hvalsey Church ruins, its renowned for its natural splendour. Despite its fluctuating population, drawn to fishing and traditional livelihoods, Qaqortoq stands as one of Greenlands larger settlements, offering vital services and amenities. Its vibrant charm is evident in its colourful houses, bustling harbour, and cultural attractions. Its a captivating destination for travellers looking to immerse themselves in Greenlands rich landscapes and Inuit heritage. Freechoice: Qaqortoq Art Walk: Join a stroll through Qaqortoq to explore the Man and Stone exhibition, featuring sculptures created by Nordic artists. Learn about Greenlands history through these unique artworks. Hike by the Great Lake (Approx 6km): Embark on a guided hike to the lake behind Qaqortoq, offering insights into Greenlandic nature, wildlife, and flora. Enjoy stops for photos amidst the serene Arctic landscape. Viking Ruins Boat Tour: Cruise to Hvalsø to explore Viking ruins, including Eric the Reds settlement and the well-preserved Hvalsø Church from the 1300s. Paamiut (Frederikshåb)
Paamiut, also known as Frederikshåb, is a charming coastal town along Greenlands southwestern coast, offering a delightful blend of natural beauty and cultural charm. Wildlife enthusiasts will be enchanted by the opportunity to spot 20 species of whales and falcons, including the revered white-tailed eagle, known locally as Nattoralik. Stroll through the township to admire the picturesque Friedenskirche, a Norwegian-style church nestled amidst brightly coloured buildings, each reflecting the towns vibrant spirit and rich cultural heritage. Nuuk (Godthåb)
Nuuk, meaning majestic fjord views in Greenlandic, is Greenlands capital and largest city. While the area has been inhabited for centuries, the present town was formally established in 1728. A guided tour through Nuuks picturesque Old Harbour offers a glimpse into the citys rich history and enduring traditions, showcasing the resilience and cultural heritage that define this vibrant Arctic metropolis. Evighed Fjord
Aptly nicknamed the "Eternity Fjord," Evighed is renowned for its awe-inspiring natural beauty and dramatic landscapes. As you navigate its tranquil waters, be captivated by the mesmerising sight and sound of ice chunks breaking away from the towering ice cap, sending echoes resounding through the fjord. Gaze up at the highest mountains in West Greenland. Cast your eyes upwards and behold the towering peaks that pierce the sky, watching as the mist swirls around them. Tonight, perhaps meet your new friends for a world-class dining experience at Koko’s Asian Fusion. Ilulissat
Named from the Inuit word for iceberg, Ilulissat is renowned for its stunning landscape, shaped by the nearby Ilulissat Icefjord. Formerly known as Jakobshavn, this town is famed for the spectacle of icebergs breaking away from the glacier, a sight emphasised by the rumbling sounds of calving ice from the Sermeq Kujalleq Glacier. Witnessing this natural phenomenon is a mesmerising experience, offering a glimpse into the dynamic beauty of Greenland. Freechoice: Ilulissat Town Walk: Discover historic sites like Knud Rasmussens birth home and Zions church in Ilulissat, known as the "town of 10,000 souls." Upernavik
Nestled within the Upernavik archipelago, often referred to as the "bay of islands and ice," lies the quaint town of Upernavik, home to just 1,100 inhabitants. Illulissat /Disko Bay
Today, well sail through the majestic Disko Bay, a region celebrated for its breathtaking natural wonders. Here, pristine icebergs glisten in the Arctic sunlight while magnificent glaciers carve their way through the rugged landscape.  Stand in awe on the Observation Terrace or your private verandah, where you can marvel at the sheer grandeur of the surroundings. Keep your ears tuned for the awe-inspiring sound of a glacier calving, an unforgettable moment that reverberates across the fjord, serving as a reminder of the immense power and beauty of natures forces at play in this remote corner of the world. Sisimiut
Greenlands second-largest town, Sisimiut is named after the fox dens that dot its landscape. Its charming streets, lined with colourful houses, lead to vast backcountry areas ripe for exploration. Beyond the towns tranquil facade lies a playground for outdoor enthusiasts, offering hiking trails, kayaking routes, and wildlife encounters. Dive into the towns cultural heritage through museums and cultural centres, discovering rich Inuit traditions and early settlers legacies. Kangerlussuaq > Copenhagen
This morning marks the end of your cruise as you arrive in Kangerlussuaq, the gateway to Greenlands stunning wilderness. Enjoy a final breakfast on board before farewelling the crew and your fellow guests. Continue your journey with a flight to Copenhagen, taking with you memories of an unforgettable voyage. Please book your flight to depart out of Copenhagen after 11:59 PM. #Spa treatments at additional cost. ^Helicopter and submersible excursions at additional cost and subject to regulatory approval, availability, weight restrictions, medical approval and weather conditions.  The itinerary is a guide only and may be amended for operational reasons.
