ITINERARY

Leith (Edinburgh), Scotland
Welcome to Edinburgh, the compact capital of Scotland. Spread out under the gaze of its ancient castle, the city is an inspiring blend of history, culture and nature. It’s said to have more pubs per capita than anywhere else in the UK, so take some time to join the locals for a pint. Transfer to Leith, where you’ll board your ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht, Scenic Eclipse. Meet the Captain, crew and Discovery Team, and settle into your spacious suite. Join your fellow guests at the Sky Bar for a glass of Champagne before setting sail for your unforgettable Arctic journey. Please book your flight to arrive into Edinburgh prior to 02:00 PM.

At sea
Today is yours to do as much or as little as you want. The next nine days will be packed with excursions and activities, so you may want to start off slowly – ask the butler to bring breakfast to your suite, to be enjoyed as you watch the icy North Sea slip by outside your window. Explore some of the indulgent spaces on board your new home, from the welcoming Observation Lounge to the indulgent Senses Spa. Lerwick, Shetland Islands
The most northerly point of the British Isles, the Shetland Islands sit almost 200 kilometres off the north coast of mainland Scotland. Lerwick is the island group’s only town and has a charming waterfront lined with sandstone buildings dating back to the 18th century. The sound of traditional Shetland music can often be heard as you walk through the twisting lanes of this pretty harbour town. Bergen, Norway
Journey to Norway’s second largest city, the Hanseatic fishing port of Bergen, which dates back to the 12th century. As a World Heritage-listed city and a European City of Culture, the Bergen region has the ideal balance of nature, culture and urban life. Flåm, Norway
Wake up early this morning to take in the spectacular views as you sail along Sognefjord, the largest fjord in Norway, known as the ‘King of the Fjords’. Stand on your private verandah or head to the Observation Lounge as Scenic Eclipse glides between steep mountains. Your destination is Flåm, right in the heart of the fjord. This tiny village is flanked by steep mountains and is one of Norway’s most popular destinations. It’s famous for the Flåm Railway, offering unobstructed views of the valley, as you gently wind through the steep mountains towards the town centre. Nordfjordeid
Be greeted by a beautiful stretch of coastline, spectacular mountains and valleys, rolling farmland, and the largest glacier in Europe as you sail through Nordfjord. The view will take your breath away. The mountains in the fjord plunge from altitudes of a few thousand metres, straight down into the fjord and the ocean, creating magnificent waterfalls. You’re bound for Nordfjordied, a town at the end of one of the fjord’s arms. The area was one of the most important of the Viking Age and is also known for its Fjord Horses, one of just three native Norwegian horse breeds. Geiranger
Sail into a fairytale of majestic snow-capped peaks, lush green forest and tumbling waterfalls this morning. The World Heritage-listed Geirangerfjord is one of the most mesmerising scenes in Norway and Scenic Eclipse will sail across sparkling waters beneath 800m high cliffs. Your Discovery Yacht’s GPS Dynamic Positioning will enable her to maintain location without dropping anchor, preserving the sensitive eco-system. Frøya
Taking its name from the Norse goddess of love and beauty, Frøya is a picturesque island with an interesting history. It has been Norway’s largest and most important fishing village, and played a significant role in WWII. See the rolling hillside blanketed in vibrant purple heather, classic Scandinavian architecture scattered along the rocky coastline, and sheltered inlets ready for exploration.
