Spend a full day exploring "rose-red" Petra, a city carved from
a mountain by the Nabateans more than two millennia ago. Visit
the Treasury, the Temple of Winged Lions, the Monastery and other

Day 4: Amman/Wadi Rum/Petra
Stop at Madaba - the "City of Mosaics," so named for its famous
sixth-century mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. With
two million pieces of colored stone, the map depicts hills and
valleys, villages and towns as far as the Nile Delta. Continue to
Mount Nebo, where the Bible says Moses lived out his remaining
days and viewed the Promised Land which he would never enter.

Day 5: Petra
Today is yours to spend exactly as you choose. The waters of the
Dead Sea are rich in salts and minerals and are widely renowned for
their healthful properties.

Day 6: Petra/Dead Sea
View Herod's palaces and baths in Masada before continuing to
Qumran Caves, where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered. If time
permits, visit the ancient city of Jericho.

Day 7: Dead Sea
A day of expeditions in the remarkable Old City begins with a drive
to the Mount of Olives for a wonderful view of Jerusalem. At the
foot of the hill you will see the Garden of Gethsemane. You then
enter the Old City to visit the Wailing (or Western) Wall and view
the Temple Area with the Al-Aksa Mosque and Dome of the Rock.
Walk the Via Dolorosa, passing by the Stations of the Cross and
ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

Day 8: Dead Sea/Jerusalem, Israel
View the Dead Sea Scrolls at the Israeli Museum before travelling to
Bethlehem, one of the most picturesque towns in the Judean hills.
View the Church of the Nativity and visit the Shepherd's Fields in
Beit Sahour.
