ITINERARY

Meet your guide after breakfast this morning for an overview of today's highlights. Travel to Jerash, a third-century city known as "the Pompeii of the Middle East" for the extraordinary insight it gives into the ancient world. Today it is acknowledged as one of the best-preserved province cities of the Roman Empire. Explore the Roman remains and later witness a reenactment of Roman games, including a live chariot race. Days 1-2: USA or Canada/Amman, Jordan
The ancient Citadel, which towers above the city from atop Jabal al-Qala'a, begins your tour. Continue to the Valley of the Moon - Wadi Rum, one of the most starkly beautiful landscapes on earth. M?venpick Resort Petra B L

Day 3: Amman
Spend a full day exploring "rose-red" Petra, a city carved from a mountain by the Nabateans more than two millennia ago. Visit the Treasury, the Temple of Winged Lions, the Monastery and other well-known sites. M?venpick Resort Petra B L

Day 4: Amman/Wadi Rum/Petra
Stop at Madaba - the "City of Mosaics," so named for its famous sixth-century mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. With two million pieces of colored stone, the map depicts hills and valleys, villages and towns as far as the Nile Delta. Day 5: Petra

Day 6: Petra/Dead Sea
View Herod's palaces and baths in Masada before continuing to Qumran Caves, where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered. If time permits, visit the ancient city of Jericho. King David Hotel B

Day 7: Dead Sea
A day of expeditions in the remarkable Old City begins with a drive to the Mount of Olives for a wonderful view of Jerusalem. At the foot of the hill you will see the Garden of Gethsemane. You then enter the Old City to visit the Wailing (or Western) Wall and view the Temple Area with the Al-Aksa Mosque and Dome of the Rock. Day 8: Dead Sea/Jerusalem, Israel
View the Dead Sea Scrolls at the Israeli Museum before travelling to Bethlehem, one of the most picturesque towns in the Judean hills. View the Church of the Nativity and visit the Shepherd's Fields in Beit Sahour. King David Hotel B

Day 9: Jerusalem
Drive to Tel Aviv's Ben-Gurion Airport to board your international departure flight. B
