Fly to Calama and then drive to San Pedro de Atacama, an oasis amid the geological and archaeological wonders of the
central desert. During your four days here, explore Atacama's
natural environment and the sites of pre-Columbian, colonial and
contemporary cultures in the company of experienced guides. Go
by four-wheel-drive vehicle, trek on foot, mountain bike or ride
horseback through the stunning scenery.
Days 3-6
Fly to Mendoza in the heart of Argentina's wine industry, an
area that produces nearly 70 percent of the country's total output.
Day 7
After a morning visit to the Mayan-inspired Catena
Zapata winery and a tasting of their premium Malbecs, continue to
Vistalba winery. Your afternoon is at leisure to enjoy spa and lodge
facilities. Tonight's special dinner is located on the grounds of the
historic Bodegas Escorihuela Gascon.
Day 8
Fly to Buenos Aires, have dinner and watch a performance
at the esteemed Esquina Carlos Gardel tango venue.
Day 9
While you are in the "Paris of South America,"
embark on a comprehensive sightseeing tour of the sights clustered
around the central Plaza de Mayo, San Telmo and La Boca district.
You have ample leisure time to explore on your own.
Days 10-11
Travel to the end of the world between the lakes,
woods, mountains and glaciers of El Calafate, including the Perito
Moreno Glacier. During your visit, delight in a cruise on Lago
Argentino, passing vast icebergs of various shapes and colors and
towering ice-capped mountains.
Days 12-14
Fly back to Buenos Aires to connect with your
homebound flight.
