Meet the little ones as they return from foraging in the bush, ready for their milk feed. Continue to the Karen Blixen Museum, once owned by Danish Author Karen Blixen. Day 3. Nairobi / Ol Pejeta Conservancy Begin your journey to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of East Africa's largest private rhino sanctuaries. Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy sweeping views of the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya. Meet your ranger for an afternoon game drive into the reserve and be ready to photograph the wealth of wildlife. Later this evening discover Ol Pejeta Conservancy ‘after dark’ on a once in a lifetime night game drive. Day 4. Ol Pejeta Conservancy Tread lightly and make your travels matter. Meaningful Moment: – Start the morning by tracking and gathering vital research information on the lions of Ol Pejeta. It is a wonderful way to learn about lions. All the information gathered is passed on to the Ol Pejeta Ecological Monitoring Department. Ol Pejeta is a refuge to several endangered species, including Kenya's only chimpanzee sanctuary, established to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market. Day 5. Ol Pejeta Conservancy / Mount Kenya After an early morning game drive and breakfast, drive north into the foothills of Mount Kenya. Stop at the Nanyuki Weavers and Spinners, a women’s self-help project established in 1977. Continue to the world-famous Mount Kenya Safari Club, arriving in time for lunch. Day 6. Mount Kenya / Samburu National Reserve After breakfast, continue to the Samburu National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. Later this afternoon set out on a game drive in search of the rare wildlife only found north of the equator, such as the reticulated giraffe Grevy’s zebra, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk and Somali ostrich. Day 7. Samburu National Reserve Spend the day game viewing in Samburu with both morning and afternoon game drives. Day 8. Samburu National Reserve / Maasai Mara National Reserve After breakfast, transfer to the local airstrip in time for your scheduled flight to the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. Day 9. Maasai Mara National Reserve Dine in the wild, and enjoy a bush breakfast before your morning game drive. You may see a pride of lions stalking their prey, observe a herd of elephant and their fascinating social structure, or see pods of hippos wallowing in the rivers.
